The Cybersecurity Field is Growing Fast – And It Needs More Women!

The WIT Cybersecurity Special Interest Group Is Excited to Announce an Opportunity to Help Take your Cyber Career to the Next Level!

Jobs in the Cyber Industry are multiplying, yet women represent just over 10% of the current Cybersecurity workforce.  As part of our mission to offer a broad range of support, programs and resources to advance women in technology, WIT is excited partner with CyberVista* to offer its members an opportunity to gain the skills and certification needed to take advantage of the enormous opportunities available in this growing industry.

The CISSP® - Certified Information Systems Security Professional – certification is highly sought after by employers. CISSP was the first credential developed for the field of information security to meet the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC Standard 17024 and is internationally recognized in the cyber industry as a standard of excellence and achievement. Those with a CISSP are highly sought after which translate into higher earnings.

WIT is partnering with CyberVista to offer 15 seats in an innovative, intensive, personalized CISSP test-preparation course for the CISSP certification. Whether you have experience in Cybersecurity or are looking to transition, the CISSP certification can help move your career to the next level.

CyberVista's CISSP® test prep course offers an innovative, new approach to cybersecurity training informed by decades of learning science expertise with sister company Kaplan, Inc. The course, a $3,995 value, includes the following unique elements:

  • Personalized experience: The only program that conducts an initial diagnostic assessment of each student's level of knowledge to deliver a personalized and efficient study plan through the powerful learning management system (LMS). CyberVista's customized LMS makes it easy for students to navigate through the content.
  • Most comprehensive: 300+ hours of structured learning including more than 70 hours of live and on-demand expert instruction. Instruction is a mix of weekly live learning sessions and on-demand materials available 24/7, allowing you fit learning around your busy life.
  • Engaging delivery mechanisms: Includes lightboard technology that allows the student to see the face of the instructor and notes on a whiteboard and on-demand video, to provide an experience that more closely mirrors and even exceeds the benefits of face-to-face instruction.
  • Small class size:  Average class size is 15 students each class has both (ISC)2 authorized and CISSP-certified instructors with an average of more than 10 years’ experience and a TA (teaching assistant) available to support the personalized learning experience.
  • A focus on practice: Includes more than 2,000 practice questions, flashcards and CyberVista Summary Notes.  There is a midterm designed to determine what the student has learned and any areas that need more focus.  Students take a full 2000 question practice exam to prepare to take the rigorous (ISC)2 CISSP exam. In addition, CyberVista provides best-practice advice to help the student to get ready to take the exam.
  • Convenience: Live courses are offered online on weekday evenings to eliminate travel and minimize the impact on jobs and other obligations of working professionals.
  • Post-class support:  Materials are available for six months after the class ends.  While CyberVista encourages students to take the (ISC)2 CISSP exam immediately after the class ends, the material remains accessible for up to six months, allowing students to continue to study, or to review if the student need to re-take the (ISC)2 CISSP exam.

If this CyberVista CISSP training  sounds like what you need to move up in your Cyber career or to transition into the Cyber industry, the WIT Cybersecurity SIG invites you to apply for one of the 15 scholarships to be awarded.
