Mentor Requirements

WIT’s Mentor-Protégé program gives experienced professionals the opportunity to give back to the next generation, helping them navigate career decisions to empower them to become leaders in their field. 

Our mentors get back as much as they give! Interacting with different generations and levels of experience widens their world view and introduces a new energy, improving their ability to lead.   

Mentor Requirements

  • Must be Director or equivalent position and have 15+ years in the workplace or significant experience owning a running a business
  • Must have at least 10 years of varied leadership experience
  • Must possess the following skills: listening, advocacy, teaching, and sharing
  • Must be able to expose others to opportunities and increase visibility
  • New Mentors must attend orientation upon initial acceptance into the program

Program 56 Key Dates:
  • Applications Open: Friday, August 14, 2026
  • Application Deadline and Program Orientation: Tuesday, September 15, 2026
  • Session 1: Tuesday, October 13, 2026
  • Session 2: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
  • Session 3: Tuesday, December 8, 2026
  • Session 4/Graduation: Tuesday, January 12, 2027
