The Leadership Foundry is helping to accelerate this progress.

Founded by Women in Technology (WIT), The Leadership Foundry targets female executives interested in serving on a corporate board. The program prepares you for board service and provides opportunities to make connections and develop relationships that could lead to a board position.

Applications for the 2025 Program are Open Through 11:59pm ET on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Our Mission

Increase the number of women in the greater Washington metro area who have the skills, training and connections to serve on corporate boards. Provide the advocacy, access, training, and mentoring to allow women to successfully identify, pursue and achieve a position on a corporate board.

Intensive Board Training

Our program includes an intensive training curriculum with National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and support to achieve NACD certification, the premier board credential in the U.S.
Networking Opportunities

Make valuable connections through meetings and networking events, with speakers, alumnae and peers. Enjoy access to NACD Capital Area Chapter events.
Continued Learning and Visibility

Partnership with National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) provides 2-year membership in NACD, expanded training and networking, and exposure to board recruiters once certified.
