Girls in Technology Program - GIT.Connect: Robotics Day
Saturday, December 09, 2023, 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM EDT
Category: Girls in Technology

Middle and High School Girls in the D.C. Metro Area are welcome to join us virtually for an exciting morning to participate in a hands-on robotics session! Participants will also connect with others interested in Technology, engage with leaders from Amazon Web Services (AWS), and hear from GIT alumna.

Girls in Technology (GIT) is led by a committee of women volunteers who are dedicated to initiating programs to excite, inspire and create awareness for girls interested in Technology.

Our vision is to significantly increase the number of girls who pursue Technology-focused education and ultimately join the ranks of other successful women in Technology careers.

Our mission is to engage and inspire girls in grades 6 through 12 in the D.C. Metro Region, especially underserved girls, to enable them to envision a path for education and career opportunities in Technology. Our programs will offer successful women role models, targeted education, endearing support and affinity. We will hold ourselves accountable to focus on GIT girls-first and foster diversity and inclusion (and belonging).

GIT.Connect Program - for Girls in grades 6 to 12 and Alumnae
Introduced during our 2021-2022 Program Year, the GIT.Connect Program supplements other GIT programming to help expand exposure to Technology topics of interest in more depth than other GIT programs may allow. GITgirl members attend evening or Saturday sessions, each lasting approximately ninety minutes. The agenda typically includes networking, relevant topics (women business owners, internships, career paths, etc.) and interactive exchanges between participants and presenters or Technology experiences.  Recent programs have included Python Programming and Living and Working in Space.

Please email [email protected] for more information on how to GIT involved!
