The finance committee is responsible for setting and overseeing the WIT operating budget. They serve as an important tactical and strategic resource across the organization to ensure that WIT is able to provide the programming and resources members expect and need. 


The finance committee meets regularly to coordinate the following activity and support:

  • Preparing the annual budget for Board approval
  • Monitoring overall financial performance
  • Preparing strategic financial forecasts
  • Collecting and monitoring all financial information relating to programs, committees, and events
  • Reporting financial results to the Board monthly
  • Reviews financial policies and procedures and make updates as necessary
  • Authorizing disbursements for budgeted expenditures
  • Preparing and submitting federal and state income tax returns

The committee welcomes any financial professionals to join. The finance committee provides a great opportunity to gain experience working with a 501(c)(3) non-profit while connecting with women involved in a wide range of technology organizations.
