Women in Technology operates on a fiscal year from July 1 - June 30th. Leadership terms range between one and two years in length (depending on the position). The nominating process of recruiting for open leadership positions begins early spring of each year, member voting takes place in May and positions are assumed July 1.

Taking a leadership role in WIT will enable you to expand your skill sets by taking on active management of programs and people. You’ll also make new connections among the enthusiastic and committed leadership team.

We strive to identify qualified leadership and board candidates who have the qualities, skills and abilities that will allow WIT to thrive and move to the next level. Leadership candidates should have the following qualities, skills and abilities:

  • A demonstrated commitment to Women in Technology
  • The ability to devote the necessary time and energy to the position
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Collaborative and group skills
  • Communication skills


In order to be elected to a WIT Board or Leadership Position you need to be a WIT member in good standing.
