Ready to launch your new business but don’t know how to start? Are you baffled by which corporate structure is a best fit and the liability and tax implications of each? Do you want to understand your funding options and general banking and financial planning resources. How about insurance needs and client insurance requirements? 

The WIT WBO 2024 event series will give you the building blocks you need to get your business started. We will explore each of these areas in detail and provide expert insights and advice that will help you get your business off the ground and running! Our first event will focus on banking, financial planning for your business, and insurance needs.

Hannah Schlabaugh, a PNC Assistant Vice President and Relationship Strategist, will provide an overview of PNC’s and the services they provide. Amy Schirmer, a PNC Senior Vice president and Senior Wealth Strategist who specializes in wealth accumulation and risk management, will talk about managing you corporate risk and protecting your partners through various insurance strategies. Trisha, a PNC Relationship Manager, a specialist in wealth accumulation, managing cash flow, and retirement planning, will discuss the financial planning needs of corporations managing short and long term liquidity needs.

Hannah Schlabaugh
Assistant Vice President and Relationship Strategist

As an assistant vice president and a relationship strategist, Hannah coordinates a team to assist you and your family in pursuing the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the important aspects of your financial life are thoughtfully orchestrated. Through a dynamic discovery process, Hannah is able to help build and maintain a thorough understanding of your needs and priorities. Prior to joining the PNC Private Bank, Hannah was a Research Associate at Woods and Poole Economics, Inc. She has been with PNC for over ten years. Hannah graduated with a Bachelors in finance and Spanish from Goshen College. Hannah holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM designation. Hannah is a volunteer at the Sitar Arts Center in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC, where she teaches dance classes.

Amy Schirmer, J.D., CFP®, CEPA®
Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist

As a senior vice president and a senior wealth strategist, Amy leads the deep and dynamic discovery process to achieve a mutual understanding of your family, business (if applicable) and financial goals to determine what is truly important to you in achieving peace of mind. She works with you and your advisors to help develop a strategic financial plan which integrates your financial, estate, tax and philanthropic considerations and preferences. Amy identifies and prioritizes your objectives and together with your team develops tailored solutions to help achieve them. She has the high level of technical experience in complex estate, tax and wealth planning issues to help bring about successful outcomes as your trusted advisor. Amy has 27 years' experience counseling high net worth families, business owners, and professional athletes on financial, risk management, and estate planning concerns. Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Transylvania University and with a Juris Doctor from The University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Amy holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM and Certified Exit Planning Advisor designations. Amy is a regular donor with American Red Cross, a volunteer with Arlington Food Assistance Center, and a sponsor with REACH for Uganda.

Tricia Wilcox
Relationship Manager, PNC Bank

Patricia Wilcox has served as a Relationship Manager at PNC since 2008. In this role she works with clients and prospects to improve their overall financial well-being. She enjoys building a deep knowledge organization so she can best solve needs and provide value. Tricia is responsible for arranging access to credit as well as providing the best depository and cash management solutions to suit the clients’ individual operations. She also manages the client relationship through a group of partners providing specialized solutions like Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Workplace Banking, Institutional Asset Management, Retirement Plans, and Wealth Management. During her career working with businesses and nonprofits, she has been involved with a variety of transactions including real estate purchases, working capital expense strategies, M&A, buyouts, and reorganizations. With a track record of timely communication and client advocacy, Tricia understands that her job is all about relationships and enjoys helping clients achieve their financial goals while making banking easy. Tricia holds a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh. Tricia is active in the community and recently sat on the board of the Capital Network Veterans Engagement Board. She is a previous Treasurer of Women Connect and sits on PNC’s Regional D&I Council. She also enjoys providing client perspective in user experience projects for the bank’s digital banking technology group. She is a member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, FAR, and Women in Technology.

 

Kara Dickey
Co-Founder and CEO, SmartCom Solutions, Inc., and Chair, Women Business Owners Committee

For over two decades Kara has helped SmartCom Solutions’ clients gain a competitive advantage through technical innovations and reduce costs through efficiencies and modernization. Kara brings a breadth and depth of experience in employing automation to solve organizations’ mission critical business needs. These efforts typically required full scale business process reengineering, as well as custom application development. Kara has extensive experience managing and participating in all phases of the system development lifecycle. Kara has diverse application and industry experience including Mortgage Origination, Mortgage Services, Mortgage Securitization, Mutual Fund Processing, Financial Management and Accounting, Supply Chain Management, and Claims Processing. In her capacity as Chief Executive Officer, Kara is also responsible for setting the direction of the company, business development, marketing, and obtaining/managing resources. Kara holds a B.S. in Decision Sciences (computer science concentration) from George University and an MBA (finance concentration) from Marymount University.
