The Intelligence of Silence: Mastering Mirroring and Labeling to Build Instant RapportIn high-stakes technology delivery, what isn’t said is often more important than what is. Most of us listen just so we can respond, but to really lead, we have to listen to understand. I want to strip away the fluff of typical "soft skills" and dive into the two most powerful tools I use: Mirroring and Labeling. I’ll show you how I use these techniques to bypass professional posturing and get to the heart of what a partner actually needs from day one. Registration Fees
Speaker
Kaylan Sites is a Senior Director at BTI360 and a 2025 Women in Technology (WIT) Leadership Award Finalist, recognized for her expertise in driving organizational scale within the National Security sector. A strategic architect of high-stakes technical portfolios, Kaylan specializes in Software Modernization and AI Transformation, turning complex legacy missions into repeatable, agile, and profitable lines of business. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Kaylan bridges the gap between visionary strategy and superior delivery. She manages the full lifecycle of enterprise-scale programs, from P&L and strategic governance to the organizational design required to sustain mission-critical software. Her focus is on establishing the structural and financial health that allows top-tier engineering talent to thrive while delivering AI-driven agility to the federal market. A "leader of leaders," Kaylan’s philosophy is rooted in culture as strategy. She holds an M.S. in Technology Management from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University, combining technical rigor with executive-level business acumen. Outside of her professional work, Kaylan’s range extends to the home front, where she is frequently out-negotiated by her seven-year-old son and her "failed" show dog, Ziggy the Sheltie, who has successfully pivoted from the pageant circuit to a career in domestic relaxation.
