Session 1 Speakers

Kelsey Gerbig
Associate Veterinarian, Pender Veterinary Group
https://www.linkedin.com/in/kelseygerbig/

I trace my passion for veterinary medicine to always having animals growing up and participating in 4-H as a kid. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a veterinarian. While in veterinary school, I became especially interested in the interconnectivity between human, animal, and environmental health. I found that I loved the opportunity to not only care for my animal patients, but also make a significant impact in the lives of their owners and the greater community.

My background also includes teaching and research. I became involved with research as an undergraduate student working in neuroscience laboratories, assisting in research studies, but also collecting data for a project of my own. While in veterinary school, my interests switched to infectious disease where I studied a blood parasite in camels while completing a Certificate in Global Health.

When not practicing medicine, I love spending time with my husband and our collection of pets (two dogs and 4 cats). I love hiking with our dogs in the National Parks nearby. And if I’m not outside, you can find with me a cup of coffee and a good book.
