WIT Developing Speakers Bureau to Promote No One Path
WIT is developing a Speakers Bureau to promote the book No One Path, continue to raise visibility for the women in the book and for WIT, and to inspire, motivate and educate local audiences. We are seeking volunteers to help make the Speakers Bureau a reality! If you are interested in being a part of this exciting opportunity to continue to promote the book, please contact Page Bostic, page.bostic@marriott.com, by December 14 (as a Kick-Off Meeting is being planned in January).
Activities you can be involved with include: coordinating directly with the women leaders featured in the book; developing a Speakers forum and a directory of topics; liaising with the Marketing/PR team to identify speaking opportunities; identifying and coordinating the speakers for each event and preparing/positioning them for success.
This is a wonderful opportunity to continue to work with the women of WIT and our inspirational women leaders featured in the book! We welcome as much or as little time as you can commit - no formal experience required, just your passion to get involved.

WITEF Fact
In 2008, women received 57% of all undergraduate degrees but represented only 18% of all Computer and Information Sciences undergraduate degrees. There has been a 79% decline, between 2000 and 2008, in the number of incoming undergraduate women interested in majoring in Computer Science. As a result, only 27% of computer scientists today are female. What can we, as WIT members, do about this trend?
