Member Benefits – Career Development

Ready to Work – Held monthly, this program offers support, guidance and education for women in career transition or contemplating a career change. Half of the session is dedicated to a professional development topic, while the other focuses on addressing the specific challenges each attendee is facing. Women offer other members leads, tips on additional resources and provide valuable job search/transition guidance. These events are free to members. Past session topics include:

    • Set Yourself Apart in a Job Interview

Meet the Company – Held monthly, companies in the D.C. metropolitan area host WIT members and provide information on the company as well as career opportunities. Company recruiters are on hand for further discussions. Participating companies have included: VMware, Corporate Executive Board, the Department of State, Microsoft, Ellucian, AOG Wealth Management, Hewlett Packard, Capital One, Appain, and more.

Two Job Fairs hosted by WIT. Held in the Spring and in the Fall, these job fairs feature 50-60 of the leading area companies looking for new hires. This past event attracted more than 300 job seekers. Member participation in the job fair is free.

WIT Online Job Bank– on the WIT website, there is a member-only searchable job bank where regional companies post job opportunities often not advertised elsewhere.
