Women in Technology and the March of Dimes have partnered to present Heroines in Technology. The Eighth Annual Heroines in Technology, presented by SAIC, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 14, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Reston, Va. The event recognizes and honors women in the technology field who exemplify volunteer service in the community. The black-tie gala will include a cocktail reception, dinner, live band, dancing and live and silent auctions.

“Heroines in Technology provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contributions women in the technology field are making in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area,” said Sandy Scearce, business development director with Grant Thornton LLP and co-chair of this year’s event



“The finalists announced today have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to improving their communities, and we’re honored to gather on November 14 to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Gayle Sweeney, principal at North Highland and event co-chair with Scearce.



The event will include dinner, live band, dancing and live and silent auctions. Proceeds from the evening will support local March of Dimes programs of research, community services, education and advocacy to reduce the occurrence of birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Since 2001, WIT and the March of Dimes have teamed together on this signature event and have raised more than $800,000 to support the March of Dimes mission of saving babies.
